DAVID HILL is a co-host and co-producer of the documentary film Bolivia Burning, which was made by the UK-based Gecko Project, released on YouTube in September 2025, and intended to draw attention to the little-known environmental and human rights catastrophe that is unfolding in Bolivia where tropical primary forests are being cut down more rapidly than any other country in the world except Brazil.
Directed by Gecko founder Tom Johnson and shot by film-maker Leo Plunkett, the film follows Hill and Bolivian activist Alvaro Bozo Garcia into remote Bolivia where vast areas of forest are being cleared to produce soy beans and beef. To date, the film has been shown on Bolivian TV, in Bolivian Parliament, and at numerous cinemas and other venues in Bolivia, Germany, Spain and the UK. Greenpeace’s Unearthed team called Bolivia Burning among ‘the best environmental journalism of 2025.’
